Science Camp

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

 

The Science Exploration program is designed to introduce students to the world of practical science while maximizing exposure to the Ohio academic content standards.  Students will be introduced to these concepts primarily through demonstration and hands-on experience.   The winter program consist of eight (8) week sessions, each session focusing on one of the major branches of science – earth and space sciences, life sciences, and physical sciences.  Each subject runs for 5 consecutive class periods.  In each session the link between science and technology is explored as well as the concepts of scientific inquiry and science ways of knowing.   

The program is open to students in grades 3 - 5.

All classes are held at the Akron Education Campus, 700 Ghent Road, Akron, Ohio  44333
