Meet our excellent faculty and staff:

Ardath Franck, PhD, Director

Dr. Ardath Franck is a graduate of Western Reserve University (PhD, Education), and Kent State University (M.A., Education, B.S. Education).  She is a certified school psychologist, speech, and reading supervisor.  Dr. Franck is the founder and director of the Akron Speech and Reading Center/Akron Education Campus, serving in that capacity since 1960.  She also served as the school psychologist for the Wadsworth Public School District, Brecksville Public Schools, and Summit County Schools and as a speech therapist for the Coventry and Revere Schools.  She has served as the Director/Instructor at the University of Akron Speech Clinic and an instructor in the Western Reserve Graduate School.  She has directed special reading programs for both the Wadsworth and Elyria Public Schools and has served as a consultant for the Hobbit's Pre-School. Author of YOUR CHILD LEARNS, a layman's psychological guide to child-rearing, she has been featured in Who's Who in American Education annually since 1967.

 

Robert Bollinger - Lead Tutor

Robert Bollinger graduated from the University of Akron (M.S., Mathematics, B.S., Mathematics) and The Ohio State University (B.S., Chemical Engineering).

Mr. Bollinger served as a graduate teaching assistant at the University of Akron and a substitute teacher for the Medina County Schools.  He has been the Lead Tutor in both Mathematics and Reading at the Akron Education Campus since 1987.

 

 

Reed Kimball - Tutor

Reed Kimball is a graduate of Indiana University (M.S., Education), Syracuse University (B.S. Aerospace Engineering) and the State University of New York at Canton (A.A.S., Mechanical Design).  He has completed additional undergraduate and graduate level coursework at the University of Akron, Thomas Edison State University, Western Michigan University, Indiana University at South Bend, Brigham Young University, the University of Notre Dame, and Central Michigan University.  Mr. Kimball has taught middle school science, chemistry, physics, organic chemistry and biochemistry at the high school level and ROTC at the university level.  A retired military officer (Colonel, United States Army), he has served as a school administrator in both public and private schools.  His excellence in the classroom was recognized by his students by being named to Who's Who of America's Teachers in 1994, 1996 and 2000, the Heritage Registry of Who's Who in 2004, 2005, and 2007 and the Manchester Who's Who of Executives and Professionals in 2005.

Cecelia Barcos - Spanish Instructor

 

Cecelia Barcos is a graduate of the University of Buenos Aires, the Catholic University of Argentina, and the Berlitz Institute. 

She has extensive experience in business and technical fields as well as her extensive language skills.

Fran Kaiser - Creative Movement Dance Instructor

 

Fran Kaiser, a dance teacher of 15-years, began teaching Creative Movement Dance in 2003.  Since then she has taught more than 400 students at a dozen different area childcare facilities.  Some of these schools include: Faith Lutheran Pre-School, St. Paul's Nursery School, Bath Academy, Childtime Learning Center, Discovery Montessori, Old Trail Pre-Schools, Copley Day Care Center, and Fairlawn Lutheran Pre-School among others.  Fran has a Bachelor's Degree in Dance from the University of Akron, and is currently the Assistant Director of Jill Royka Dance Studio in Montrose.

 

 

Rachel Breece - KidzArt Program Coordinator

Rachel Breece is the Program Coordinator for Akron's KidzArt and is also a certified KidzArt instructor.  She has a Bachelor's Degree in Human Development & Family Studies from Berry College in Rome, Georgia.  She received the CFLE (Certified Family Life Educator) designation based on her undergraduate coursework.  She has worked for KidzArt since August of 2008 and is passionate about the program and especially the children.  She is very excited to be sharing the KidzArt program with the children of Northeast Ohio.
